Bishop Patrick will be leading the annual Blessed Sacrament Procession from St Mary’s Church in Hyson Green, Nottingham to the Cathedral of St Barnabas. Before the Procession there will be a Diocesan Study Morning in St Mary’s Primary school taking as its theme the Eucharist. Clergy and parishioners will be welcome to come for both events or to either, as time will allow.
The Blessed Sacrament Procession will start at 2pm. Please do join in this important witness to our faith at the journey with Our Lord through the heart of central Nottingham. The procession will end with Benediction in the Cathedral at 4pm, followed by prayers at the tomb of the Venerable Mary Potter, praying together for her Beatification. Parishes/communities are encouraged to bring parish/community banners to carry in procession behind the Blessed Sacrament. Those attending should be able to walk the distance of a mile and a half. It is possible for those who cannot walk in the procession to join for Benediction in the Cathedral.
